6 Tips To Build Your Brand For The Part-time Entrepreneur

6 Tips To Build Your Brand For The Part-time Entrepreneur

As a part-time entrepreneur, I am sure you keep hearing about “branding”. It is hard to define branding because the definition keeps evolving! Let me share six tips related to building your brand.

  1. Every interaction, every step builds your brand. – Nothing is off limits when it comes to your brand. Be conscious of that interaction at a networking event or that person you meet in the grocery store… it all counts!
  2. Building your brand takes time… give yourself grace. – There are no overnight successes and don’t compare yourself to anyone else. Building a brand does take time so be gracious to yourself and others. Your investment in your Brand will payoff.
  3. Sometimes, you just have to do “IT” for your brand. – I know you have heard ” Do it for the GRAM!”, well do IT for your Brand. That may mean doing a free workshop or becoming consistent with your blogging. Just do IT for your brand!
  4. Your assistant represents your brand. Choose wisely – More than likely you don’t have a full staff but you may have an assistant or virtual assistant. Keep in mind that their professionalism, follow up and behavior impact YOUR brand. Choose wisely.
  5. Be careful what you support, it impacts your brand. – Whenever I am asked to support a business venture, sponsor an event or partner up on something, I always ask myself… “Do I want to attach my Brand to THIS”? Always keep in mind the things you support, whether on social media or off, get attached to your Brand. Your support implies that you endorse that event, project or whatever and their Brand.
  6. Branding is largely about visibility and consistency. – In order to have brand awareness so that people form some opinion about you and your business, you must be in front of them! Use Social Media, eMail Marketing and etc on a consistent basis. Show up where your ideal clients hang out online and offline. Whatever you do, be consistent because your brand depends on it…
