5 strategies for handling “pick your brain” requests!
“Can I pick your brain?” – I am sure you have heard this question before. This request may come dressed up in a lunch meeting or a coffee break but I want to give you some strategies for handling this. Let’s face it, your time and your expertise have value and you must guard both of them…
Here are 5 strategies for handling “Can I pick your brain?” requests:
- Have a free offer or opt-in that shares a checklist or video of common questions you receive. They can sign up for that on your website or email opt-in landing page.
- Do Facebook Live and share a little of your expertise with your entire audience. This will keep you from being tied up in so many “pick your brain meetings.”
- Have a blog on your website to share content. You can simply refer the person to your blog for the information. You create it once and share it multiple times!
- Create virtual products and courses such as an eBook, audio, or video course that gives them key information about your area of expertise. You can send them the link of how they can purchase the product that addresses their questions.
- You need a structured way for people to schedule time with you by using a calendar scheduler like mine, which is Acuity Scheduling. This can include free consultations AND or paid consultations.
All of the above indicates to people that there are boundaries and value on your expertise.
Meet you at the top!
