Are you using the Facebook “Follow” feature?
What is the follow feature?
You can choose to allow people who aren’t your Facebook friends to see your PUBLIC posts in their News Feed. Instead of clicking on “Add Friend”, they can click on “Follow”. This is great because Facebook limits the number of “friends” we have to 5,000 so if you are near your limit like me, the Follow feature will allow those that want to connect with you another option to do so. In addition, some people want to know what is going on in your world but don’t necessarily need or want to be official “friends” on Facebook.
Who should enable the follow feature?
If you are promoting a product, book, CD, service, business, organization, event or ministry… you definitely need to have this feature enabled on your page! I must say, I have recently visited some pages that I wanted to follow but they did not have this feature enabled… thus this blog post!
How do you enable the follow feature?
1) From the drop down arrow at the top right of your Facebook page, scroll down and select “Settings”.
2) On the left sidebar menu, select “Followers”.
3) Under “Who Can Follow Me”, select ” Everybody”.
There you go!
