I am in the middle of the editing phase for my third book collaboration with 12 amazing co-authors. I was reviewing a few of the finalized chapters for PURSUE and a recent Amazon Prime series came back to my mind.
I watched The Underground Railroad a few weeks ago and there was a scene of an African American gentlemen reading and hiding his book. One of the other characters reminded him that he could get beat or whipped for knowing how to read… While the series has some fictitious parts, that was not one of them.
So as I read the chapter submissions ( all by African American women) and prepare to publish my third book collaboration, I am reminded that we, African Americans, are our ancestor’s wildest dreams…
