“I just browsed through approx. 50 non-profit websites and this is why I found many of them won’t get the optimal amount of funding/help/assistance that’s possible:
– No mission listed (Why do you exist and what are you about?)
– No leader(s) listed (Who’s controlling my time/money investment?)
– No real images just stock photos (What do the actual people that you help look like? I want to feel connected.)
– No proof of what you’ve already done (What is your track record with what you’ve been given up to this point?)
– No proof of what you have coming in the future (Can I see what’s on the horizon that may inspire me to donate time/money or resources?)
– No video that tells your story in visual storytelling format (Self-explanatory)
– No location (This one was crazy. I couldn’t tell where half of them were located. Even the ones that had local missions. Some referenced cities or towns but I either couldn’t figure out the state or had to dig for it.)
Even if you have a non-profit it still boils down to sales and marketing. If you can’t sell the purpose you’re hurting your outcome.”
