Hi, I’m Sharvette Mitchell and I help female entrepreneurs build their online platform so that they can generate revenue with an amazing online brand. Welcome to a segment of #AskSharvette. I received a question from someone who is going to be building a website, and they are a speaker. They wanted to know what they should have on their website in particular since they are a speaker, so that’s a great question.
For speakers, one thing that you definitely want to have is a page that’s dedicated to your speaking career and to your speaking business. That page should have a listing, up to three of your top sought after and your top requested talks. Many people call these your signature talks. It would be helpful to have a couple of bullet points with those signature talks just so event planners and conference hosts can get an idea of what you would cover in that session.
You absolutely need a way for them to book you, so there needs to be a clear direction of how do I book this person? Is there a booking form? Is there an email that they should submit a request to? Make that really clear. If you have video or pictures of you previously speaking that is a great thing to add on your website. It gives social proof, it gives credibility that you are the rockstar speaker that you are. That’s just a few things and there’s a lot more, but for speakers in particular, I think those things will help set you up for success.
