Harnessing its power can help your private practice stand out to prospective clients before they even set foot in your door or computer. Althea T. Simpson sits down with Sharvette Mitchell to dissect the six different components in establishing your personal brand. They detail how to choose your audience, the importance of visual marketing, and the power of media coverage and publication. Althea and Sharvette also discuss the Platform Builders Program and how both of them were connected through it.”

Building Your Personal Brand And Platform As A Therapist With Sharvette Mitchell

All December 2020, remember we will be focusing on the Business of Psychotherapy Practice. I have an undergrad in Business Management and an MBA in Marketing. I have dual social work degrees, which is Macro Organizational Leadership and Micro, which is the clinical part. I’m three classes in a dissertation away from receiving my Doctorate degree in Business Psychology Consulting.

I said all of that to say because I don’t want you to think I’m operating outside of my knowledge area that would be janky. The purpose of Business of Psychology Practice episodes is to bring awareness to the opportunities beyond traditional psychotherapy practice, to diversify your income and monetize your skills to prevent sloppy service delivery and burnout from seeing an extremely high number of psychotherapy clients. I read about people who saw 50 and 60 clients a week. I want to take a vacation for them, but not knocking what you do, that’s you.

For those who don’t want to do that, this is what these episodes are for. I have here with me, Sharvette Mitchell of Mitchell Productions. I’m going to let Sharvette introduce herself, but I’m excited that she’s here because if you are reading this. She’s money in the bank. She’s not going to give you all of her goodies. She’s going to open your eyes and make you aware of the importance of having a personal brand as a therapist. Sharvette, thank you for being here. If you could tell us a little bit about yourself.
